Product catalog: the products you sell, their prices, and how they reach the till
The catalog is a master library of the physical products you carry - skincare lines, retail items, anything you might stock. It's separate from Inventory: a catalog entry describes a product, it doesn't carry stock on its own. Catalog lives in the Services & products section of the sidebar, next to Services and Inventory.
Add a product
- Open Catalog and press Add product.
- Fill in Name, Brand / line, Category and Unit.
- Pick a Supplier, or add one on the spot with + New supplier…. Add an optional SKU and Barcode.
- Set Cost (€), Purchase (€), Sale (€) and VAT (%). For products sold by volume or weight, fill in Pack size and its Measure (ml, l, g or kg) - the card then shows a computed price per litre or per kg.
- Add a Description, leave Active checked, and press Add product (or Save changes).
Getting a product to the till
A catalog entry alone has no stock and can't be sold. Press To stock on a product's card to create a real inventory item from it: set a Quantity and a Low at threshold, check Sellable in POS (checked by default when the product already has a sale price), then press Add to stock. Only items marked sellable show up in the Products tab of Point of Sale - the catalog entry itself is never listed there.
Organizing the catalog
Products are grouped by Brand / line, with an Other group for products without one. Filter by All brands or All suppliers, or search by name, brand, SKU or barcode.
Good to know
- Deleting a catalog product only removes the catalog entry - any inventory item already created from it stays untouched.
- Turning off Active doesn't hide or remove the product; it stays in the list with an Inactive badge.
- Pressing To stock twice for the same product without renaming it fails: stock item names must be unique in your organization (see Inventory and suppliers).
