Sell gift cards and run promo codes

Gift cards and promo codes are two separate discount tools: a gift card carries a prepaid balance you sell to a client, while a promo code gives a percentage or fixed discount to whoever enters it.

Issue a gift card

Open Gift cards in the sidebar and press Issue gift card.

1. Under How is it paid?, choose At the POS, By invoice, or No payment - only the methods you have permission for are offered.
2. Set the Amount (€), and optionally an Expires in (days), a Custom code, a Recipient name, a Recipient email, and a Note.
3. The confirm button changes with your choice. At the POS shows Go to payment and opens Point of Sale with the card already in the cart - nothing is created yet, the card is minted once that sale is paid. By invoice shows Issue card and invoice, creates the card as pending right away, and opens the invoice editor with it as the only line - the card activates once that invoice is paid, and cancelling the invoice instead voids a card that was never paid. No payment shows Issue gift card and activates the card immediately, recorded as issued without payment - for example a comp or a gift from the team.

The full card code is shown only once, right after an At-the-POS or No-payment issue - use Copy code or Print card before you dismiss the banner; after that the table only shows its last 4 digits. Cards can also be sold as a preset or custom amount directly from Point of Sale. Gift cards are sold and issued by the clinic; a client cannot buy one themselves on the online booking page.

Each card's details show its Payment: paid at the POS, issued without payment, by invoice (linked, paid or awaiting payment), or not recorded for a card issued before this choice existed - from there you can still Issue invoice or Take payment at the POS for it.

Check or redeem a card

From Gift cards, press Check or redeem - or, if you can issue cards, click a card in the table to fill in its recipient, note or expiry instead.

1. Enter the Card code and press Check to see its balance and status.
2. Enter a Redeem amount (€) and press Redeem to spend part or all of the balance.

Cards can also be redeemed as a payment method at Point of Sale. A card's status is active, redeemed, expired or void; extending the expiry date on an expired card that still has a balance reactivates it.

Create a promo code

Promo codes only apply at checkout and online booking once you enable them: open Booking settings > Booking logic tab > Promo codes section and turn on Enable promo codes (or use the Enable in Booking Settings link on the Promo Codes page banner).

Then open Promo Codes in the sidebar and press Create a promo code:

1. Set the Code and an optional Description.
2. Under Discount, choose Percentage off or Fixed amount off and set the Discount value; optionally set a Minimum order amount.
3. Under Validity, set Valid from / Valid until - leave both empty for a code that never expires.
4. Under Limits, cap Max total uses and/or Max uses per customer, and tick Only for new customers to restrict the code to a client with no previous paid sale - checked at the till when a client is attached to the sale.
5. Press Create code.

Toggle a code's switch to activate or deactivate it, or press Delete to remove it for good.

Good to know

• A promo code must be unique per clinic - creating a duplicate is rejected.
• A gift card never expires unless you set an expiry date when issuing it.
• Viewing, issuing and redeeming gift cards are three separate permissions; managing promo codes is its own single permission - each is grantable on its own.
